There are a myriad of reasons why people shoot boudoir and chances are most will have more than one. Here I’m going to talk about the reasons that I shoot boudoir. Specifically since my main/only model is my wife.
It's Fun
Shooting boudoir is fun. Add in the person you love most and it becomes even more enjoyable. Are there times I’m more interested in shooting than my wife is? Absolutely! But I do my best to keep the pressure off her so that it remains an activity that we can both enjoy together.
I love Making Beautiful Images of my Wife
I love making beautiful and artistic images of my wife. Not only for my own satisfaction, but to see the look on her face when she sees them too. I will never forget our first boudoir session and seeing the look on her face after I showed her some of the pictures we took together. It is a moment I will cherish forever.
It’s a Chance to Shoot Photos
Photography is my passion and I will take any chance I can to shoot photos that I love and can be proud of. Whether that be portraiture, travel, landscape, wildlife, astrophotography, or boudoir isn’t important. Taking out my camera and seeing the world through it is.
Adds a Little Spice to the Bedroom
Let’s be honest here. Combine two people that are head over heels for each other, a camera, skimpy clothing, and perhaps a little alcohol (my go to is a Disaronno Sour), and you have a recipe for a good time for both parties involved.
Final Thoughts
These are my reasons for shooting boudoir and will probably not align with yours and that's OK. You don't have to have the same reasons that I do or anyone else for that matter.
